Pohartan excels at never losing focus on its plot, or wandering off to uninteresting tangents. You won't find needless prose or mundane descriptions to fill the pages; instead, you will discover a cast of interesting and nuanced characters as you navigate through the tumultuous and embattled landscape of the novel. Despite been a fan of the fantasy genre in the past I haven’t read much in recent years. I enjoyed Pohartan, the plot progressed nicely and the characters felt real. Reading it I was reminded of why fantasy had been my go-to for so long.
